I am Dr. Jasim Uddain, currently serving as a Professor in the Department of Horticulture at Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University (SAU), Dhaka. I earned my PhD in Horticultural Biotechnology from the internationally renowned Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), ranked 134th in the QS World University Rankings. My academic and research journey spans over a decade, focusing on enhancing horticultural crop productivity, quality, and sustainability. My current research is centered around the application of modern biotechnology and abiotic stress mitigation strategies to improve horticultural crops. I am actively involved in developing climate-resilient and high-yielding varieties, as well as implementing biostimulant-based solutions to reduce dependency on chemical fertilizers in both field and protected cultivation systems. In parallel, I am dedicated to promoting organic farming systems for sustainable horticulture, integrating eco-friendly inputs and cultural practices. As part of the DAM PARTNER project, I lead training programs for young agri-entrepreneurs, particularly in the field of postharvest handling, processing, and value addition of horticultural produce, aiming to reduce losses and enhance income. Moreover, I regularly conduct research methodology workshops tailored for Master's and PhD students, covering statistical analysis using SPSS, experimental design, data interpretation, and technical proficiency in Microsoft Office tools to support academic research and thesis preparation. I am committed to advancing horticultural science through research, education, and capacity building, contributing to food security and sustainable agricultural development in Bangladesh and beyond.
