Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University was established in 2001 for the expansion of higher agricultural education and committed to promote research in the field of crop, livestock and fisheries. Faculty of Animal Science & Veterinary Medicine (ASVM) is the newest faculty of this university. The ASVM Faculty started its activities since 2011. The ASVM Faculty now offers Bachelor of Science in Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry, i.e. B. Sc. Vet. Sci. & A. H., which is 5 years duration Bachelor Degree. Moreover, the students of Agriculture Faculty and Agribusiness Management Faculty of this University have to take courses offered by the ASVM Faculty. In addition, execution of the postgraduate programs from the Faculty of Animal Science & Veterinary Medicine is under processed.  The ASVM Faculty has its own Dairy Farm, Poultry Farm, Clinic for Animal Health Care, Artificial Insemination Center, Hi Technical HEQEP Lab (funded by World Bank) to facilitate research and impart practical training and demonstration to the students and farmers.The ASVM Faculty fulfills the vital need of the country by providing professional manpower, research specialists, teachers and extension personnel to serve in livestock and poultry development in every sphere of animal agriculture of our Nation.
