Dr. Md. Arfan Ali is a Professor of Horticulture at Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University, Dhaka-1207, Bangladesh. He received his Bachelor degree in Agriculture and MS in Horticulture at the Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University in 2001 and 2005, respectively. He obtained his PhD from King Abdulaziz University, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia in January 2018, under King Abdulaziz PhD Scholarship. He worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Arid land Agriculture at the King Abdulaziz University, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia from July 2020 to June 2022 under the fund of Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) with the scientific evaluation of TWAS and UNESCO, and worked on Postharvest Physiology of Horticultural crops. He also conducted his research as a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Food Engineering at the Osmaniye Kurkot Ata University, Turkey from July 2022 to June 2023 and worked on “Alleviation of chilling injuries of some fresh horticultural commodities during storage”. After that he joined as a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Horticulture, Faculty of Agriculture in Cukorova University, Turkey from June 2023 to March 2024 as an expert of postharvest physiologist under the fund of European Union (Project: Horizon 2020) . He attended a number of international and national conferences. He published 52 research articles in different reputed national and international SCI-indexed journals. Research Interest: Postharvest Physiology, Horticultural trade, Fruit industry, Biotechnology, Allelochemicals, Hydroponics, Climate change, etc. Course Conducted: At undergraduate Level: Vegetable production, Nursery management of horticultural crops, Vegetable seed and spices production, Fruit crop production At Postgraduate Level: Postharvest Technology of Horticultural Crops, Advanced Vegetable Production
