Teacher Overview

Dr. Nazneen Sultana is a Professor, Department of Plant Pathology at Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University, Dhaka-1207. She joined as a Lecturer in the Plant Pathology department at Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University in 1997.She obtained her Bachelor in Agriculture in 1992 from Bangladesh Agricultural University and MS in Plant Pathology in 2003 from the same university. She received her doctoral degree (PhD) in Microbiology from University of Dhaka in 2015. Dr. Nazneen is an esteemed Scholar in Plant Pathology, specializing in diagnosis and ecofriendly management of bacterial and fungal diseases in plants. Her research focuses on innovative, sustainable method for plant disease control. She teaches both undergraduate and graduate courses. As an educator, Dr. Nazneen leads a variety of essential courses, including Introduction to Plant Pathology & Microbiology, Seed Pathology, Phytobacteriology, Mycology, Post Harvest Pathology and Clinical Plant Pathology, where she equips students with critical knowledge and practical skills in plant disease diagnosis and management. She also served as a Chairman in the same department from 20th July 2011 to 19th July 2013. Dr. Nazneen is the member of different professional organization and institutes and expert member of different research institutes. Currently, she is the Director of Institute of Seed Technology(IST) at Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University, Dhaka-1207. Dr. Nazneen has successfully completed several research project funded by the Ministry of Science and Technology, University Grant Commission and Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University Research System (SAURES). Dr. Nazneen has bright carrier of 20 years of research and extension. Dr. Nazneen supervised more than 60 MS students currently she is supervising two PhD students and four master's students. She was the member of advisory committee, PhD of several students.
