Dr. Md. Abdul Masum holds the post of 'Professor’ in the Department of Anatomy, Histology and Physiology, Faculty of Animal Science and Veterinary Medicine, Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University, Dhaka, Bangladesh. Dr. Masum has completed his D.V.M. and M.S. degrees from the University of Rajshahi and Bangladesh Agricultural University, Bangladesh, respectively. He has completed his Ph.D. degree with a MEXT (Japan Govt.) scholarship and a JSPS postdoc fellowship on "One Health" from Hokkaido University, Japan. He was awarded research grant namely ‘Grant in Aid for Scientific Research’ from Hokkaido University, Japan for three consecutive years (2015-2017) during his doctoral research. Dr. Masum was also a ‘Visiting Researcher’ at the School of Medicine, University of Indiana, USA. He has published several research articles in different reputed journals. He has received several prestigious research grants and continuing his research with his national and international collaborators. His research interests are kidney diseases, Immunology, food safety, climate change, and Diabetes as well as identification of diagnostic markers for different human and animal diseases using molecular approaches.
