Assistant Professor
Department of Fisheries Biology and Genetics
Mohammad Rashed is working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Fisheries Biology and Genetics under the Faculty of Fisheries, Aquaculture and Marine Science, Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University (SAU), Dhaka, Bangladesh.
He completed his graduation with an outstanding result from Noakhali Science and Technology University (NSTU), Noakhali, Bangladesh. Not to mention, he secured the first position in the class. During his graduation, he was intrigued by the teaching profession (especially university teaching) and became passionate about this profession.
Furthermore, he carried out research work for completing his graduation that led him towards the exploring world of fisheries. For a better understanding of the fisheries research field, he got himself admitted to Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU), Mymensingh, Bangladesh. There, he completed his Master of Science (MS) in Fisheries Biology and Genetics obtaining praiseworthy results. In that period, he had done research work on the artificial breeding of indigenous fish using cryopreserved sperm. After completing his MS, he became more experienced in both the academic and research sector.
Moreover, he has numerous training experiences from renowned institutes such as the National Institute of Biotechnology (NIB), Graduate Training Institute (GTI), Bangladesh, etc. In addition, he was a member of IUCN-CEC (International Union for Conservation of Nature-Commission on Education and Communication) and IUCN-CEM (IUCN Commission on Ecosystems Management) for the period 2017-2020.
However, there is still a long way to go and he is on that way. He wants to explore more knowledge regarding the biology of fish and genetics so that he can disseminate that knowledge to his students.
