I am Dr. Jahagir Alam working as an assistant professor at the Department of Anatomy, Histology and Physiology, Faculty of Animal Science and Veterinary Medicine, Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University, Dhaka. Previously I worked as a lecturer, assistant professor, and associate professor till December 2023. I graduated with D.V.M and M.S. in Anatomy from the Faculty of Veterinary Science, Bangladesh Agricultural University. During my MS course, my research topic was “Effects of Arsenic on spermatogenesis and oogenesis in the Black Bengal Goat of the Arsenic prone area of the Mymensingh district of Bangladesh. In my research, I have identified the different histological changes due to environmental pollutants during spermatogenesis and oogenesis in Black Bengal (Awal et al. 2015; Alam et al. 2017). In 2022, I completed my Ph.D., and the topic was “Ephrin-B1 and EphB4 as novel markers for the steroidogenic cells in the naturally cycling mouse ovary and adrenal gland” from Osaka Prefecture University, Japan. Ephrin-B1 and EphB4 are membrane-bound communication molecules.
