Sharif Ahammad is a Lecturer in the Department of Development and Poverty Studies under the faculty of agribusiness management at Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University, Dhaka-1207, Bangladesh. He graduated from Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University (SAU) with a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Economics (Honours) and obtained Master of Science in Development and Poverty Studies, securing first position in both cases in order of merit. Sharif Ahammad got the NST Fellowship 2022-23 MSc/MS Agriculture by the Ministry of Science and Technology for M.S. research on "Comparative profitability and technical efficiency of combine harvester users and non-user Boro rice farmers in Haor areas of Bangladesh." Additionally, Sharif Ahammad is involved in a research project on “climate sensitivity of the supply chain of the major cereal crops in Bangladesh” funded by IFAD, Department of Agricultural Marketing (DAM) and attended different national and international seminars.
