Lutfun Nahar is now acting as an Assistant Professor at the department of Agricultural Botany under the faculty of Agriculture at Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University (SAU), Dhaka, Bangladesh. Previously, she worked as a scientific officer of Bangladesh Rice Research Institute (BRRI) from 2013 to 2018. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Agriculture (Hons.) and Master of Science in Agronomy from Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University, Dhaka. Nahar has 16 full length publications in both national and international journals as a principal and co-author. During her Master’s study, she achieved a scholarship from NSICT for her Master's research. She was also performed as a fellow in African Women in Agricultural Research and Development (AWARD), Nairobi, Kenya for two years in 2018-2019 where she was selected among South-Asia's young women researchers by Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research (ACIAR). It was a prestigious achievement in her life. At present Nahar deputed for Ph.D. program in Niigata University, Japan sponsored by Bangabandhu fellowship trust under the Ministry of Science and Technology, People's Republic of Bangladesh.

Nahar’s research interest in stress physiology. For that reason, her Ph.D. research mainly focuses on stress physiology and molecular responses in rice subjected to various stress.

As a teacher along with her professional job she also interested to help to build up leadership, communication, and management skill among the students
