Dr. Ranjan Roy is a Professor in the Department of Agricultural Extension & Information System at Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University, Dhaka, Bangladesh. Since 2006, he has made significant contributions to teaching, research, and outreach activities. Dr. Roy designs, develops, and conducts various courses for the B.Sc. Ag. (Hons.), B.Sc. Ag. Econ. (Hons.), MS, and Ph.D. programs, and supervises both Master’s and Ph.D. students. Recently, he served as a Research Assistant at the Johnson Shoyama Graduate School of Public Policy, University of Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada. In 2018, he was a Teaching Fellow at the School of Humanities, Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM). Dr. Roy was awarded the USM-TWAS Fellowship and earned his Ph.D. in (Natural) Resource Management from USM, with his research published in renowned peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Roy has undergone specialized research training in Environmental Policy at the Global Cooperation Institute (GCI), Yokohama City University, Japan. His diverse project portfolio includes Adaptation Pathways, Resilient Agriculture, Community-Based Adaptation, and Water Governance. His current research interests focus on resilient and sustainable agriculture, Climate-Smart Agriculture, Climate-Resilient Development Pathways, and Sustainable Coastal Socio-Ecological Systems. In 2021, Dr. Roy authored the book "Coronavirus & Climate Change: Tales of Two Crises." His forthcoming book is titled "Achieving SDGs in a Post-Pandemic World: Transformative Leadership, Visioning, and Action." Dr. Roy serves as a "consultant" to the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).
