Dr. Nasrin Sultana is a faculty member (Professor) of the Department of Agroforestry and Environmental Science at Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University, Dhaka, Bangladesh. I am an Environmental Science expert involved in greenhouse gas emission and mitigation, especially microbial methane emission and oxidation linked with the taxonomic identities of active microorganisms in rice paddy soils. Some of my research focuses on the long-term fertilizer regimes and conversion of aerobic upland to flooding paddy fields that significantly altered the community structure of functional microbes, especially methane-oxidizing bacteria (MOB), ammonia-oxidizing archaea (AOA) and bacteria (AOB) under the changing environment.

I have research activity in environmental pollution and contamination, especially heavy metal/metalloids toxicity: accumulation and translocation of heavy metals on different agricultural crops and its impact on soil to plants and its exposure to human health. My research work has been published in different renowned journals such as: đŸ”č Biology and Fertility of Soils đŸ”č Pedosphere đŸ”č Microorganisms đŸ”č Molecular Sciences đŸ”č Bulletin of Environmental Contamination and Toxicology đŸ”č HortScience đŸ”č Agroforestry and Environment Journal, etc.

Research interest: Global Warming and Climate Change Issues: Greenhouse Gas Emission and Oxidation, Metals/Metalloids Toxicity, Environmental Pollution, and Contamination.
