Heartiest welcome to all in the Department of Biotechnology. It is one of the promising Departments of Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University. It has skilled and experienced faculty members. The Department has been offering a Master of Science(MS) in Biotechnology. In addition, the Department also offered Plant Tissue Culture and Introductory Biotechnology courses at the Bachelor of Science in Agriculture (B.Sc.Ag(Hons')). The Department is doing researches in the area of plant tissue culture and plant molecular biology. By the dynamic leadership of Prof. Dr. Md. Ekramul Hoque along with other Faculty members, the Department is enriched with modern sophisticated types of equipment. The mission of the Department is to develop resistant varieties for biotic and abiotic stresses in economically important agricultural crops.
In 1938, Sher-e-Bangla A.K. Fazlul Huq envisioned a new era of agricultural education to empower students with knowledge and innovation for sustainable farming. This vision gave birth to Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University, a center of excellence in agricultural development.
