Welcome to the Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University Poultry Science Department web site. The Department of Poultry Science is one of the pioneer departments during the establishment of the Faculty of Animal Science & Veterinary Medicine in 2011. This website contains information about course curricula lay-out and syllabus of the department. Bangladesh is deficit in meat and egg production. Poultry education, research, training and extension activities hopefully increase poultry meat and egg production of the country. The course curricula includes broiler, layer & breeding flocks management, poultry housing, environment & welfare issues, poultry nutrition, disease prevention, hatchery operation and processing, marketing & distribution of poultry and poultry products.The Department offers both theoretical and practical courses to the undergraduate students of the Faculty of Animal Science and Veterinary Medicine. The students from the Faculty of Agriculture and Faculty of Agribusiness Management also learn the basic knowledge of poultry science and practices. The top priority at Poultry Science is providing quality education for its students. The Department also actively seeks collaborations and partnerships with reputable organizations and educational institutions throughout the world. The department consists of reputed faculties and dedicated support staff.
In 1938, Sher-e-Bangla A.K. Fazlul Huq envisioned a new era of agricultural education to empower students with knowledge and innovation for sustainable farming. This vision gave birth to Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University, a center of excellence in agricultural development.
